Over 60 friends, family and supporters joined Ruth-Ann at Betty’s Restaurant on Wednesday to help her launch her campaign for Niagara Falls City Council. Everyone enthusiastically
signed-up to volunteer to help with lawn signs, door-to-door canvassing and the many other activities that come with today’s campaigns. The crowd loved Ruth-Ann’s speech outlining her plan to ‘Focus Forward’.
Growing up in the Main and Ferry Streets area of Niagara Falls, Ruth-Ann Nieuwesteeg, never had to venture very far.
“Basically, you didn’t need to leave the area…everything was here,” she said.
The six hospital foundations serving Niagara Health System are pleased to announce our Boards have agreed in principle to move forward with an amalgamation of our Foundations, forming One Foundation for Niagara Health System.
For several months, the foundations have been contemplating an amalgamation, primarily to better coordinate their fundraising efforts across all communities served by Niagara Health System.
Awards are one thing for Jeff Claydon and Ruth Ann Nieuwesteeg, but the real beauty they say, lies in the transformation that’s going on around them.
“We now have people who are choosing to go down Main Street,” Nieuwesteeg said Monday. “They’re now choosing to go down Main Street.”
NIAGARA FALLS — A new name for the area, an invigorated marketplace, streetscape improvements and chasing away criminals through revitalization are all part of a plan to breath new life into the old and tired Main Street and Ferry Street business area.
